In-Glens' Priz Party Barn Name: "Socks" Socks considers herself a “special” horse and wants to be treated like a princess. Everything must be on her terms. Socks will let you know if and when you can pet her and for how long. She will never come to you in the field but will walk away. Then after 6-7 steps she will stop and tell you that you are now allowed to catch her. As Mieke says, “You can’t force her or demand for her to do something. You have to have patient, ask her nicely to do something and then she will agree to cooperate. You can never “trust” her to stand still or to just walk into the field off a lead rope because as soon as you do that, she will do the opposite. BUT, if she likes you, she will work for you and she would go through fire for you!” Socks likes the Marathon and cones the best and is used as a leader, but she doesn’t have the patience for the Dressage. On Marathon, she will rocket right through every gap and seems to think that she is smarter then David and so she will try to pick her own route. Like Chief, Socks is a smaller horse so is quick in her turns and speedy in the hazards. She is also very clever and fast in cones.
